Commercial Insurance Underwriter

A well-established insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Underwriter to manage and service a portfolio of commercial clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for policy renewals, underwriting support, risk assessment, insurer negotiations, client service, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
• Process annual renewals, policy amendments, endorsements, and cancellations.
• Obtain and compare quotations from insurers to secure competitive cover and pricing.
• Assess risks and ensure appropriate insurance solutions are provided.
• Review policy wordings, terms, and underwriting requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and business partners.
• Provide professional advice on commercial insurance products and coverage.
• Monitor outstanding premiums and assist with account resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and company procedures.
• Support business growth through client retention, cross-selling, and new business opportunities.
