Edomatch is recruiting an OGM (Oil & Gas Marine) Technician on behalf of NEEMBA TOGO.
Job Location: Lomé, Togo
Position open to expatriates; relocation to Lomé covered by the company.
Purpose of the Role
The OGM Technician primarily works on marine engines and electrotechnical systems within the Oil, Gas & Marine sector.
He/she independently performs maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting operations on marine engines and associated electrical equipment, in compliance with Caterpillar standards and maritime industry requirements.
Main Responsibilities of the Role
- Be technically autonomous in carrying out and supervising all types of preventive and corrective maintenance operations onboard vessels or within the oil industry, particularly on the mechanical side.
- Be autonomous in performing visual inspections in preparation for engine-related and other technical work.
- Be capable of troubleshooting all types of CAT engines.
- Be able to interpret analysis results of oil, fuel, and coolant.
Key Tasks (Non-exhaustive)
- Perform troubleshooting on all types of CAT engines.
- Carry out operations and execute testing and adjustment procedures.
- Produce reports in both French and English after each intervention.
- Validate 30 SIMS tickets per month.
- Independently perform metrology of parts or components and produce reports.
- Maintain effective communication with clients.
- Comply with contamination control procedures – HSE-LLC.
- Independently carry out component and engine rebuilds.
- Understand and interpret customer concerns.
- Prepare reports for CES (CAT Export Sales).
MISSIONS
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the OGM Technician will be responsible for:
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on Caterpillar engines installed on vessels and other marine equipment.
- Conducting full overhauls of CAT engines used in the maritime sector.
- Carrying out disassembly, replacement, and reassembly of mechanical and electrotechnical components.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electrotechnical faults on marine engines.
- Performing basic testing and adjustments after interventions.
- Working on electrical and electrotechnical installations of marine engines.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults on engines and associated systems.
- Configuring and adjusting onboard electronic systems.
- Strictly adhering to safety regulations, environmental standards, and contamination control procedures.
- Applying scheduling methods and workplace organization standards (5S).
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition.
- Using CAT digital tools for diagnostics and intervention tracking.
- Preparing and validating parts lists using SIS software.
- Ensuring accurate reporting and proper allocation of working hours.
Profile Required
Experience and Education
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a mechanic or electromechanic in the Oil, Gas & Marine sector or with Caterpillar.
- Proven experience with CAT marine engines and associated electrotechnical systems.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in overhauling CAT engines for marine applications.
- Solid knowledge of electrotechnics applied to marine engines.
- Proficiency with CAT digital tools (diagnostics, SIS, ET, etc.).
- Knowledge of metrology applied to mechanical and electrical components.
Required Qualities
- High level of autonomy and sense of responsibility.
- Rigor and strict adherence to procedures.
- Team spirit and ability to mentor developing staff.
- Adaptability to maritime working conditions.
- Fluent in French; professional level in English.

- Ensure all safety equipment in company vehicles is complete and functional (reflective vest, first aid kit, warning triangles, fire extinguisher, spare wheel, jack, and handle). Report any missing items to the HSE department.
- Attend weekly safety meetings when scheduled in your department.
