Department Sales Reporting To Sales Supervisor / Regional Sales Manager
Role Purpose The Field Sales Representative is responsible for driving awareness, lead generation, and sales of HomeBiogas products among smallholder farmers in rural farming communities. The role focuses on direct farmer engagement, sales closure, and consistent achievement of sales targets through ethical and relationship-driven selling.
Key Responsibilities (Expectations) 1. Create product awareness among smallholder farmers through direct field engagement, community visits, farmer groups, and local market activations. 2. Identify, generate, and qualify sales leads within assigned territories and maintain a strong sales pipeline. 3. Conduct regular follow-ups with potential customers and convert qualified leads into confirmed sales. 4. Clearly explain product value and available financing options to farmers to support informed purchase decisions. 5. Achieve and consistently exceed assigned weekly and monthly sales targets. 6. Collect and submit accurate sales data, lead information, and field reports using provided tools. 7. Represent HBG professionally in the field while building trust and long-term relationships within farming communities.
Minimum Requirements Education • Minimum of a Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in direct B2C sales, preferably selling to smallholder farmers • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets • Experience selling agricultural, clean energy, or asset-based products is an advantage
Skills & Attributes • Strong communication and persuasion skills • Comfortable engaging farmers door-to-door and in group settings • Self-motivated, disciplined, and target-driven • Ability to work independently in rural and urban farming areas • Basic smartphone literacy for data collection and communication • Fluency in local languages is a strong advantage
