Reporting to: Mara Program Coordinator Technical reporting: Education Officers Job Location: The candidate will be based in Aitong, Maasai Mara, Narok County. Aitong is 77kms from Narok town, enroute Talek Centre. Remuneration: Gross Ksh170,000 Contract period: April - December, performance based with 3 months’ probation period.
Purpose of the Role The Education Officer is responsible for coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and supporting education program activities in target schools, while supporting teachers and learners, strengthening school leadership, improving learning outcomes, and monitoring program impact.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications/ experience desirable 1. Bachelor’s degree in education. 2. Minimum of 7 years of training/program management experience and team management/leadership experience including direct supervision of field teams. 3. In-depth understanding of traditional and modern training methods (including workshops, simulations, e-learning and coaching). 4. Proven experience in implementing Competency-Based Education Curriculum (CBE), digital literacy, STEM, languages, and life skills in education. 5. Excellent planning, analytical, conceptual and organizational skills. 6. Understanding of data collection and analysis and documentation of results 7. Proven ability to manage and control finances, track project expenditure, prepare and guide department staff on budget forecast and expenditure levels. 8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 9. Mastery of office software (MS Word, Excel, and Power Point) required.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement education project activities in targeted schools in line with approved budgets and work plans, ensuring activities are delivered efficiently, effectively, and sustainably with the involvement of partners, schools, and communities.
- Support implementation of teacher training, digital literacy, STEM, social-emotional learning (SEL), language, and competency-based education programs.
- Facilitate capacity building for teachers, school management, Boards of Management, and parent associations to strengthen teaching quality and school governance.
- Support extracurricular activities, student clubs, and individualized learning programs.
- Conduct regular field visits, classroom observations, and data collection to track progress, indicators, and program impact.
- Work with the MEAL team to develop monitoring tools, ensure accurate reporting, and document lessons learned and best practices.
- Prepare monthly progress reports for internal and donor use.
- Coordinate training sessions and provide technical guidance, supervision, and mentorship to teachers, school leaders, and project partners.
- Coordinate with logistics, procurement, administration, and other departments to support smooth implementation of field activities.
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator, education team, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery.
