Supply Chain & Logistics Manager

• Department: Supply Chain

• Location: Akosombo, Ghana

• Reports To: General Manager, The Good Roll Ghana

• Direct Reports: Procurement Officer

• Work Schedule: Office Hours

Purpose of the Role

The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and

cost-effective flow of materials,

products, and information across the entire supply chain. This includes overseeing

local and international procurement, managing inbound and outbound logistics,

and ensuring full compliance with import, export, and customs regulations. The role

requires strong coordination between suppliers, production and commercial

departments to guarantee uninterrupted operations in a 24/7 paper manufacturing

environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Management - Local & International Procurement

• Source and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials (recycled paper,

chemicals, packaging, spare parts, consumables).

• Ensure procurement aligns with production forecasts and inventory

requirements.

• Build reliable supplier relationships to ensure consistent material quality and

timely deliveries an collections.

• Oversee contracts, price agreements, and supplier evaluations.

• Coordinate purchase orders, lead times, and transport/shipping schedules.

• Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, and reliability.

• Ensure compliance with trade regulations, letters of credit, and international

payment terms.

2. Procurement Management - Import, Export & Customs Operations

• Oversee all import and export documentation, ensuring accuracy and

compliance with customs regulations.

• Liaise directly with customs officials, clearing agents, and freight forwarders to

minimize clearance delays.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import duties, tariffs, and exemptions

relevant to raw materials and machinery.• Ensure that all shipments are tracked, cleared, and delivered on time to meet

production schedules.

• Manage relationships with inspection authorities and handle regulatory audits

when required.

3. Planning & Coordination

• Collaborate with production and finance teams to forecast material needs and

manage cash flow for procurement.

• Develop and track KPIs such as delivery lead time, stock accuracy, supplier

reliability, and logistics cost per ton.

• Support digital integration of supply chain processes through the inventory

management platform.

• Prepare periodic reports on procurement performance, logistics efficiency,

and customs compliance

4. ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)

• Champion the integration of ESG principles throughout all supply chain and

logistics operations to ensure that growth and efficiency align with ethical

and sustainable practices.

• Work closely with The Good Roll Foundation to strengthen the social and

environmental impact of sourcing and logistics activities. This includes

supporting community-based bamboo farming, promoting fair employment,

and improving sanitation infrastructure in collaboration with local partners.

• Ensure all suppliers and contractors meet environmental and ethical

standards, including responsible sourcing, fair labour conditions, and

transparent business practices.

• Develop and implement initiatives to reduce the factory’s environmental

footprint by improving energy efficiency, minimizing transportation

emissions, and reducing packaging waste.

• Oversee recycling and waste-management systems that contribute to circular

production and resource recovery.

• Track, report, and improve key ESG metrics, ensuring compliance with internal

policies, local regulations, and international sustainability standards.

• Represent the factory and The Good Roll Foundation in ESG-related audits,

stakeholder engagements, and sustainability reporting.

ton, and delivery efficiency

• Supplier ESG Compliance: Percentage of suppliers meeting environmental,

social, and governance standards

• Carbon and Resource Efficiency: Reduction in CO₂ emissions, fuel

consumption, and packaging waste across logistics operations

• Community and Foundation Engagement: Number and scale of sourcing or

logistics initiatives conducted in partnership with The Good Roll Foundation

• Sustainability Reporting: Accuracy and timeliness of ESG data collection and

reporting for internal and external stakeholders

• Continuous Improvement: Implementation rate of ESG-driven operational

improvements (e.g., renewable energy sourcing, waste reuse, ethical audits)

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business

Administration, or related field

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in

manufacturing or process industries

• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, customs documentation, and

trade regulations

• Experience with ERP systems (Zoho) and inventory control tools

• Proven negotiation and vendor management skills

• Excellent communication skills in English
