Quality Controller

Our client, a well-established citrus farm situated outside Marble Hall, is looking for a Quality Controller to join their packhouse team.The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Evaluate the quality of citrus fruit during intake, sorting, grading, packing, and dispatch processes *Monitor fruit quality, sizing, colour, defects, and packaging standards throughout production *Identify, record, and report quality deviations, defects, and non-conformances *Conduct routine quality inspections and ensure compliance with customer and market specifications *Assist with the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality management systems *Monitor traceability procedures and ensure accurate record keeping *Follow up on quality-related issues, complaints, and rejections *Assist with internal audits and quality improvement initiatives *Compile quality reports and maintain relevant documentation *Liaise with production personnel to ensure consistent quality standards are achieved *Relevant administration and reporting *All other tasks related to the role.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Grade 12 required;
• Previous experience in a quality control role within a citrus packhouse, fresh produce, agricultural, or food production environment will be advantageous;
• Knowledge of citrus quality standards and food safety systems will be beneficial;
• Knowledge of HACCP, GlobalG.A.P, SIZA, or similar quality management systems will be advantageous;
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel;
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English;
• Valid driver's licence.
