The following position has become available at Triton Supply Chain Solutions in Germiston: Business Development Consultant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

New business development:


  • Build and maintain a structured, measurable and qualified pipeline of new
    opportunities.
  • Prospect actively for opportunities across warehousing, 3PL, distribution and
    broader supply chain environments.
  • Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, digital outreach, tender identification, industry connections and site visits.

Selling Triton SCS service offering:


  • Differentiate Triton from ordinary warehousing providers through value-added, improvement-led solution selling.

Customer needs analysis and opportunity qualification:


  • Qualify opportunities based on strategic fit, feasibility, profitability and revenue potential.
  • Conduct discovery discussions, operational walk-throughs and requirement gathering sessions.

Internal solution coordination:


  • Ensure customer requirements, assumptions, exclusions and commercial context are clearly documented.
  • Work collaboratively with internal specialists during proposal development and customer presentations.
  • Brief internal IE, operations, finance and solution stakeholders accurately on the prospect requirement.

Proposals, commercials and closing:


  • Support the development of proposals, tenders, presentations and pricing schedules.
  • Manage negotiations within approved authority levels and protect margin quality.
  • Close new business and ensure clean handover to the relevant internal teams.

Relationship management and sales discipline:


  • Build trust-based relationships with prospects, customers and influencers.
  • Represent Triton professionally in all meetings, presentations and written communication.
  • Provide regular updates on activity, forecast, conversion, pipeline movement and risk.
  • Support post-sale engagement where appropriate and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.


Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Matric / Grade 12 and a relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, Marketing, Commerce or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' external sales, business development or solution-selling experience.
  • Practical understanding of warehouse operations and WMS/WCS-linked environments.
  • Experience with proposals, quotations, presentations, negotiations and customer engagement.
  • Valid drivers license and own reliable transportation.
