The company is a leading Ghanaian manufacturer of high-quality flexible packaging solutions, serving clients across multiple industries including FMCG, agroprocessing, and industrial goods. With strong manufacturing capabilities, consistent quality standards, and a growing regional footprint, They are now taking a strategic step to expand its presence into the Togolese market.
To support this expansion, the company operates in Togo through its local subsidiary, Clarity, which will serve as the commercial and operational vehicle for market entry and growth.
The Role
We are looking for a highly capable and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to lead the market entry and development of brand in Togo. Based in Lomé, you will be the first employee on the ground for the enterprise and will play a pivotal role in opening the Togolese market from scratch.
This role goes far beyond sales. You will be responsible for building the market, establishing trusted relationships, structuring local operations, and acting as the bridge between clients in Togo and senior management in Ghana. You will work in close collaboration with the leadership team of the company and will travel to Ghana on a monthly basis to align on strategy, production, and commercial execution.
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role suited for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building from zero, and understands how to translate relationships into long-term commercial partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
Market Entry & Business Development
• Open and develop the Togolese market for the company products through Clarity.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard suitable client companies (e.g. FMCG, agroprocessors, manufacturers, distributors).
• Build a strong commercial pipeline and convert prospects into long-term customers.
• Represent the brand as a trusted, professional, and credible partner in the market.
Relationship & Account Management
• Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers (owners, procurement managers, operations managers).
• Understand client needs and translate them into viable product and supply solutions with the Ghana-based production teams.
• Manage key accounts and ensure client satisfaction, repeat business, and sustainable growth.
Local Operations Setup
• Set up and structure the initial local operations of the company in Togo.
• Define basic commercial and operational processes (sales follow-up, order coordination, client communication).
• Coordinate logistics, delivery timelines, and after-sales follow-up in collaboration with Ghana.
• Act as the local face of the company, ensuring professionalism and reliability in all interactions.
Strategic Coordination
• Work closely with senior management in Ghana on commercial strategy, pricing, and market positioning.
• Provide regular market feedback and insights (competition, pricing, client expectations, regulatory considerations).
• Travel to Ghana on a monthly basis to align with production, management, and commercial leadership.

Profile & Requirements
Experience & Background
• Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, agro-industry, or adjacent sectors.
• Demonstrated success in opening new markets, developing client portfolios, or growing revenues from scratch.
• Existing professional network in Togo (or the wider West African region) within relevant industries is a strong advantage.
Skills & Competencies
• Exceptional communication skills in both French and English (written and spoken) – mandatory.
• Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of autonomy, discipline, and ownership; comfortable operating without close day-to-day supervision.
• Strategic thinker with a practical, execution-focused mindset.
• Cultural fluency and ability to operate effectively across Ghanaian and Togolese business environments.
