We are looking for an Occupational Health and Safety Officer.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety performance, incidents, and compliance documentation.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as NEMA and DOSHS on matters related to workplace health and safety.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety performance and employee well-being.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance. They should possess a solid understanding of occupational health and safety laws, risk assessment, and hazard control. The candidate must have excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of promoting a safety-first culture across all levels of the organization. Prior hands-on experience in implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, and managing incident investigations is essential. A professional certification in occupational safety and a practical, solution-focused mindset will be highly valued.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Certification from a recognized safety body (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, NITA) is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 5-7  years’ experience in an OHS role, preferably in an industrial or construction setting.

  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety regulations and risk management principles.

  • Excellent observation, reporting, and communication skills.

  • Ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
