- Collections officers perform a variety of tasks, including managing debtor lists, maintaining communication with debtors, updating payment records, responding to customer queries, and liaising with lawyers and insurance agencies.
- Institute legal actions against overdue debtors to force them to make payments.
- Collections officers note this and update their payment records in the debtors' list or ledger
