The successful candidate will join a dynamic team and play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a growing industrial enterprise. Role Overview Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. This is a full-time, on-site position based at the company’s manufacturing facility in Bagamoyo. Key Responsibilities The Accountant will be responsible for the following duties: Maintain and update accurate books of accounts, including the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to ensure the integrity of financial information. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Monitor and reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and other financial records. Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, SDL, corporate tax, NSSF, and WCF, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Support the budgeting and forecasting process and monitor budget variances. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and implement audit recommendations. Manage inventory costing and liaise with the production team to ensure accurate cost accounting. Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and procedures. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements Applicants should meet the following qualifications and requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution. Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in accounting, preferably within the manufacturing industry. Solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Tanzania tax regulations. Proficiency in accounting software such as Odoo, Sage, or similar ERP systems, as well as MS Office Suite. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
