Duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible to the Board of Trustees for the implementation of the Board’s policies.
  • Coordination of the Board and Management for development of policies and long-term strategies and their implementation.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the Fund.
  • Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
  • Chairman of the management team.
  • Ensuring that the Heads of Sections perform as expected
  • Ensuring sound financial, staff and assets management.
  • Recruitment, development and discipline of all staff of the Fund
  • Accountable to the Board of Trustees.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Board of Trustees.

Job demands and challenges:
  • Ensuring that the Board of Trustees’ functions are run smoothly and harmoniously.
  • Expected to instill teamwork in the organization with the goal of achieving set targets.
  • Key motivator to the staff of the Fund.
  • Contribute towards enhancing the public image of the Fund by articulating the policies and philosophy set out in the Trust deed.
  • May sometimes have to take stringent actions, which may bring him/her into direct disfavor with various affected parties, including staff.
  • Takes responsibility for the omissions/commissions and poor performance of staff where it is deemed to have been committed within the normal cause of duty and with good intentions.

Minimum qualifications & Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent.
  • CPA/CPS III or its equivalent.
  • A Master’s degree in Management or a related area will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience at senior Management level.
  • Experience working with social organizations serving the vulnerable is desired.
  • Must have experience in fundraising and Advocacy.
  • Strong administrative skills with a strong financial background.
  • Good working knowledge of organizational development and management.
  • Age 35 – 45 years.
  • Competence in ICT and related applications.

  • Must be self-motivated, a creative forward thinker and result oriented leader.
  • Must be tolerant and mature, with good inter-personal relationship skills.
  • Must be an honest person of impeccable integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Amiable personality.
  • Fluent in English and Swahili.

House Allowance Kshs. 65,000/- per month
  • Position is for a contract of three (3) years renewable.
  • Other benefits include medical cover, Gratuity of 25% of basic salary payable after successful completion of the 3-year contract.
