The Patient Assistant will provide support to patients and healthcare staff, ensuring smooth daily operations within the healthcare facility. This role involves assisting patients with non-clinical needs, coordinating patient flow, and providing an excellent patient experience while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients upon arrival, providing guidance on registration, departments, and procedures.
Support patients with mobility, personal care, and basic comfort needs as required.
Assist nursing staff with routine tasks, including taking vital signs, monitoring patients, and recording observations under supervision.
Ensure patient areas are clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Escort patients to examination rooms, labs, and other departments as needed.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and appointment scheduling.
Communicate patient needs, concerns, and observations to the nursing and medical staff promptly.
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards.
Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with data protection regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum high school diploma; certificate or training in healthcare or patient care is an advantage.
Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare environment is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations with empathy.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures is a plus.
Physically able to assist patients with mobility and perform routine duties.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and reliability.
