The Patient Assistant will provide support to patients and healthcare staff, ensuring smooth daily operations within the healthcare facility. This role involves assisting patients with non-clinical needs, coordinating patient flow, and providing an excellent patient experience while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival, providing guidance on registration, departments, and procedures.

  • Support patients with mobility, personal care, and basic comfort needs as required.

  • Assist nursing staff with routine tasks, including taking vital signs, monitoring patients, and recording observations under supervision.

  • Ensure patient areas are clean, organized, and safe at all times.

  • Escort patients to examination rooms, labs, and other departments as needed.

  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.

  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and appointment scheduling.

  • Communicate patient needs, concerns, and observations to the nursing and medical staff promptly.

  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with data protection regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum high school diploma; certificate or training in healthcare or patient care is an advantage.

  • Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare environment is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations with empathy.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures is a plus.

  • Physically able to assist patients with mobility and perform routine duties.

  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and reliability.
