Job Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and assets within the assigned premises. This role involves monitoring activities, enforcing security policies, responding to incidents, and maintaining a safe environment for all staff, clients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control access to the premises, including gates, entrances, and restricted areas.

  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility to identify potential security risks and ensure safety compliance.

  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, reporting any irregularities to supervisors or relevant authorities.

  • Maintain visitor logs, issue passes, and verify identities to ensure authorized access.

  • Provide assistance to staff, clients, and visitors as required, ensuring safety and adherence to security protocols.

  • Monitor CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security equipment for suspicious activity.

  • Prepare and submit incident reports, daily activity logs, and security assessments.

  • Enforce organizational policies, safety regulations, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and internal teams when necessary.

  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain knowledge of security procedures and emergency response.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred.

  • Valid security license (Private Security Regulation Authority – PSRA) is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of security operations, procedures, and emergency response protocols.

  • Strong observation and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.

  • Physically fit and able to perform patrols and respond to emergencies.
