My client is pert of the Group, an is a well-established fertilizer mixing and distribution business based in the Eastern Free State. The company is highly respected within the farming community and fertilizer industry for its reliability, quality, and operational excellence.

My Client is seeking a dynamic and commercially focused Financial Manager to lead the finance and administration function. This role is critical to the business and will suit a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment and enjoys contributing to strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will ensure robust financial management, strong governance, and effective internal controls while leading and developing a skilled finance and administration team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting


  • Full responsibility for debtors, creditors, and cash flow management
  • Daily bank reconciliations and weekly petty cash reconciliations
  • Manage monthly and year-end closures
  • Compile and oversee management accounts, interim and annual financial statements
  • Ensure accurate and compliant tax submissions
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Prepare and submit monthly, annual reports, budgets, and forecasts

Strategic & Business Support


  • Analyse financial results to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Compile and manage the annual budget
  • Develop and evaluate financial and business planning models
  • Play a key role in the strategic direction of the business

Systems, Controls & Governance


  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial systems, procedures, and controls
  • Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and group governance requirements
  • Align internal controls with VKB Group policies
  • Manage user access and permissions on financial and production systems
  • Drive unqualified audit outcomes and continuous audit improvements

Inventory & Operations Oversight


  • Oversee warehouse and raw material inventory management
  • Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to achieve business targets

People Management


  • Lead, manage, and develop the finance, admin, and inventory teams
  • Monitor performance, build capability, and manage conflict effectively
