Reports To Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer / Hospital Administrator

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Operations Management

• Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficient and high-quality healthcare service delivery

• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, healthcare policies, and operational procedures

• Monitor and improve patient care standards, service quality, and patient satisfaction outcomes

• Coordinate clinical workflow, staffing, and resource allocation to maximize operational efficiency

• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve healthcare delivery and productivity

• Ensure compliance with healthcare quality standards, infection prevention measures, and safety procedures

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise, mentor, and manage clinical and operational teams to ensure high performance and accountability

• Conduct staff performance reviews and support professional development initiatives

• Promote teamwork, professionalism, discipline, and ethical conduct within departments

• Foster a positive workplace culture focused on quality service delivery and patient-centered care

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, legal requirements, and professional practice standards

• Maintain operational compliance with relevant healthcare regulatory authorities

• Oversee risk management, quality assurance, incident reporting, and corrective action processes

• Ensure confidentiality, patient safety, and ethical handling of medical information

Administration & Reporting

• Develop operational reports and performance metrics for management review

• Manage departmental budgets, resource utilization, and operational planning \

• Coordinate procurement and proper utilization of medical and operational resources

• Collaborate with senior management to implement strategic healthcare initiatives

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Maintain effective relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, suppliers, and regulatory agencies

• Address operational challenges and patient concerns professionally and efficiently

Qualifications & Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields:

•Clinical Medicine

• Nursing

• Health Systems Management

• Public Health

• Healthcare Administration

• Medicine and Surgery or related healthcare field

• A Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, Public Health, Business Administration (MBA), or related field will be an added advantage.

Professional Certifications & Memberships

The ideal candidate should possess or demonstrate eligibility for registration with relevant professional and regulatory bodies where applicable, including:

• Relevant professional licensing and clinical practice certifications

• Registration with relevant professional boards in Kenya where applicable

• Membership with recognized healthcare professional bodies and associations relevant to specialization

• Training in healthcare operations management, leadership, quality assurance, or hospital administration is an added advantage

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in clinical operations, healthcare management, hospital administration, or related healthcare environment

• Proven experience in managing clinical teams, healthcare operations, and service delivery systems

• Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practices, healthcare quality assurance, and operational management

• Experience in policy implementation, reporting, compliance management, and performance monitoring
