PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Technical Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of operational improvement and CAPEX projects across the Group. The role is responsible for coordinating the planning and execution of projects, including communication between sites, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, as well as monitoring project progress and maintaining project documentation.

The incumbent may also be required to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing operational efficiency across manufacturing operations.
This role is fully remote, based in South Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination & Support
Assist with the coordination and administration of Group CAPEX and operational improvement projects, throughout the project life cycle.
Coordinate the development of project cost estimates, execution plans and feasibility studies.
Monitor project timelines, action plans, and deliverables.
Prepare project reports, updates, presentations, and tracking schedules.
Support contractor and supplier coordination during project planning and execution.
Maintain project documentation, records, and filing systems.
Risk analyisis and control in the project environment.
Reporting & Administration
Maintain CAPEX tracking schedules and project progress dashboards.
Assist with compiling project budgets, quotations, and expenditure tracking.
Support preparation of monthly project cost and efficiency reports.
Ensure project documentation complies with Group procedures and governance requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with site teams, suppliers, contractors, and internal departments to support project planning and execution.
Coordinate meetings, follow-ups, and action tracking across project teams.
Provide administrative and operational support to the Group Projects & Efficiency Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial).
  • Added advantage – Project Management certification and/or qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, engineering, projects, or operational environment.
  • Exposure to large scale CAPEX project coordination, maintenance planning, or continuous improvement initiatives will be advantageous.
  • Manufacturing/Food Processing or industrial environment experience is preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • Excellent understanding of project management principles.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Projects, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to compile reports and track project progress.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to identify and foresee risks and to manage them effectively.
