How much do you risk in an audit?

What to know

What does the body claim in an audit?

The contributions not paid, employee and employer shares: the employee share that was not withheld is still owed by the employer. Late-payment surcharges are added and, depending on the country, fines per worker not declared.

How many years back does an audit reach?

Five years in Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire, four in Morocco. In Togo the right to collect lasts thirty years. Elsewhere, general law applies.

Can the surcharges be waived?

Yes in most countries, on request, for good faith or force majeure, often after paying the contributions themselves. Putting things right before an audit beats doing it after.

How do you put things right?

By declaring the missing workers and pay, paying or spreading the contributions, then asking for the surcharges to be waived. Our payroll experts can do it with you.
